You can make a big difference with a little positive change. As the New Year rolls around, so does the sense of new beginnings and another chance for a fresh start in a better direction.

I was recently reading The 80/20 Principle by Richard Koch, who notes that highly-effective goals are written, stated positively and in the present tense, and are time-bound, challenging, reasonable, specific, and measurable. So…

Take the time to write down your resolutions and make sure to set an end date. What will your end-state look like? How will you know when you have achieved your goal?

Make peace with the fact that real change – lasting change – requires long-term commitment.

Review and measure your resolutions on a consistent basis. It’s easier to make a minor course correction early on than turn the ship around later.

Come talk to me about your health or weight loss goals! I will help you set a reasonable end date and then help you keep track of your progress. Commit to yourself to live well, and LiveWell, in 2013!
